Some renovations are all about sprucing up your space, while others are a necessity. But this project is special. It not only transformed our client’s home into a stunning masterpiece, but it also snagged a place in Vadara’s Designer Spotlight! Vadara quartz, a company known for taking their inspiration from nature, showcased our client’s kitchen makeover that took its cues from their outdoor space creating a perfect design match.
Choosing Quartz Countertops
Clients often call us when they want to remodel, but this project was born out of necessity after a leak led to part of our clients’ kitchen being torn apart. When embarking on the journey to remodel her kitchen, our Folsom, California client, the owner of a professional cleaning company, asked for a quartz countertop that was both timeless and easy to maintain. The result was White Aurora, by Vadara quartz with its crisp white background and soft shadowy grey veining. “My client was immediately drawn to Vadara quartz, which set the tone for the entire kitchen renovation,” kitchen designer Melinda explained. With care and maintenance being at the top of the list, Vadara quartz was an easy choice with both Greenguard, and kosher certifications.
Selecting Kitchen Design Elements
Using the Vadara quartz countertops as a jumping off point made it easy to select the other kitchen design elements of this project. The cabinet color was selected in a complementary white hue, creating a neutral backdrop to the kitchen’s deep blue kitchen island where the cooktop was originally located and moved to expand the eating and working space. Keeping with a timeless esthetic, white subway tile with subtle variations in hue was selected to tie all the shades of white together. A designer favorite, these glazed ceramic tiles have a handcrafted feel to them that add texture to the backsplash. Introducing a touch of warmth and sophistication, Melinda’s client selected brass hardware, which complemented the understated gold veining in the countertops. A classic touch that is also reflected in the clients cooking range. Adding open shelves expanded the feel of the kitchen and brought in an element of the outdoors, the perfect accent to really tie in nature inspired elements visible from the clients’ expansive windows. The result is a harmonious blend of style and practicality, perfectly tailored to our client’s professional and personal lifestyle. Designing a space isn’t just about selecting materials, it’s about listening to the client and knowing they will love their space because it’s everything they wanted in their design.
