Luxurious Coastal Inspired Kitchen
Is cooking in your dream kitchen on your list this year? Combining function with vacation, our Folsom clients were dedicated to crafting a stylish home that captures the relaxed essence of coastal living with luxurious finishes throughout their home. Drawing inspiration from natural materials such as wood, rattan, and stone, the kitchen was designed with a blend of pale white oak and creamy painted cabinets, topped with sandy-hued Taj Mahal Quartzite that runs up the back splash. Taj Mahal is a consistent bestseller, praised for its timeless elegance and beige base with soft green and gray tones. Its versatility makes it a great fit for both traditional and modern kitchens.
No detail was overlooked in this kitchen project. A custom-built range hood, embellished with a white oak band, unifies the kitchen’s wood elements elegantly. Take a close look, and you will notice a tall appliance garage perfect for a tucked away coffee station and other appliances to keep counters neat. An expansive kitchen island was designed in this kitchen not just for gatherings but for prep, complete with accessible storage on both sides. Woven fiber counter stools with dark decorative bands were specifically chosen to introduce a textured coastal element that resonates throughout the homes design.
Seamless Flow From Room to Room
Beyond the kitchen, the coastal design gracefully extends throughout the first floor. Newly installed wood flooring flows into every room, including the home office that received its own update. In the office, the closet was opened to accommodate a television console and custom wood shelves for function and style, expanding the rooms footprint. A jute rug, plush furnishings and woven pillows give this room a welcome update.
Across the way, a small powder room with walk in shower was layered with coastal influences from a light white oak custom vanity to a renovated shower with sandy tone tile and pebble stone floor.
Playful Home Renovation Finishes
Leaving no stone unturned, Melinda and Jerilynn took their clients’ existing hall cabinet and converted it into a home bar with new deep nautical blue cabinetry and upper glass cabinets with white oak backing. A natural stone countertop was installed with a pearlized glass arabesque backsplash tile, playfully referred to as “pearla.” To complete this transformation, new champagne brass hardware was added. Situated between the dining room and kitchen, this new centralized home bar is now ideal for entertaining.
